Dugena - delicous vintage watches

Regularly I see vintage watches from Dugena with a modern size of 42 mm or larger. They are not the cheapest but damn delicious.

The history of the german brand Dugena is well documented, e.g. here and here.

Today Dugena uses a circle in a triangle as trademark - as the original Alpina logo.
The company was established 1917 and market watches under the name Alpina. In 1942 they had to give up Alpina and changed the name of the brand to Dugena. Dugena is short for Deutsche Uhrmacher-GENossenschaft Alpina. Dugena grew into one of the most wellknown watch brands in Germany. Dugena made watches in many quality levels from cheap models with pin-lever movements to watches with e.g. Valjoux movements. Source. Supposedly the watches were bought from different factories and had only the Dugena name in common.

The brand survived the quartz crisis, it still exists today and even makes watches inspired by the great 1970s models.
